Q: What are your hours?

Our bookings team is in-office from 9AM - 6PM PST Monday through Friday. We allow bookings at any time 24 hours / 7 days a week, and our goal is to respond as fast as possible, so don’t hesitate to email us or call / text 310.359.6763.

Q: Do you have parking?

Our private parking lot has 11 spots available for Hype guests! If/when more are needed, our Operations team can advise on overflow options. There is also unrestricted parking all around our building, this information will be shared with your crew as part of studio directions and entry details.

Q: What is the minimum time frame that I can book?

One hour! We like to accommodate our clients’ needs as much as possible whether you need full-day or the project is only in need of an hour or two.

Q: Is the cyc private?

Our office team is here to support and working in private offices, but please ask our bookings department about how we can make your visit the most convenient.

Q: Can we have food and refreshments in the studio? Are there caterers you’d recommend?

Food is allowed in the space, no problem. We just ask that you keep Hype tidy and deliver the studio back to it’s original condition. Here are some of our nearby favorites!

  • Silverlake Coffee (also amazing breakfast sandwiches, best to go in-person)

  • Coffee: Starbucks (there’s a drive-through at 1250 Glendale Blvd and also in the Whole Foods parking lot, address below)

  • Grocery: Whole Foods (right down the street at 2520 Glendale Blvd, 7AM - 10PM everyday except holidays)

  • Vietnamese: Gingergrass (try their banh mi sandwiches)

  • Salads: Tender Greens (healthy, vegan/veg friendly options)

Q: What do I need to do to confirm the booking? 

Let our bookings team know by email; a contract will be prepared, and COI will be requested naming the below as additionally insured:

Payment will be required prior to arriving to the studio. A security deposit may be assessed depending on needs.

Please send us the call sheet / schedule prior so we can properly prepare the space for your arrival.

Q: Do you have backdrops? 

We certainly do! Please advise which color you’d like at least 48 business hours prior to booking so we have it ready for you.

Q: Can I bring my own lights? 

For sure! Just please note the electrical requirements of the lights so we have proper power on stand by (see electrical notes below).

Q: Will someone be at the studio to help me set up? 

Hype Studios provides a site rep on duty to let you into the space seamlessly. We highly recommend having someone from your team who is aware of setting up lights / equipment (like a photo assistant, gaffer, etc.) so they are there to help.

Q: Do you have equipment to rent? What about props? 

Yes! We have plenty of equipment (see EQ RENTAL pages above) and props as well.

Q: What is a cyclorama (cyc) wall? 

A “cyc” is a large curved white wall designed to create an infinity effect. Although we have paper backdrops available, the cyclorama is an amazing asset to any shoot.

Q: Can I bring my dog / pet / animal to the studio? 

Sorry, no! For the safety of our site reps, pets are not allowed in the space. Please inquire about the policy with the bookings department.

Q: Do you have recommendations for photo assistants & photographers? 

Hype has a large rolodex of crew to suggest for your shoot. Whether you need a hair/makeup artist, photographer, photo assistant, videographer, we’re happy to provide suggestions.

Q: Can I shoot video in your space? Is there a special rate? 

We absolutely allow video in the studio. If extra lighting/power is not needed, we can usually accommodate the request within the day rate. If extra lighting and equipment is needed, a special rate may be assessed.

Q: What’s the max voltage of the space/power spec? 

The studio is split up between 3 electrical panels (called A, A2, B2) - please ask the bookings department for a diagram of the space. It’s important to note that VOLT numbers (ie A=400 AMP, 120/240 VOLT, A2= 200 AMP, 120/240 VOLT, B2= 70 AMP, 120/240 VOLT) are not fully available with items already using power in the space (HMU mirrors, Sonos, steamers, etc.) Our space is split up between 3 panels. It’s more important that we understand the max voltage needed to keep their gear running as certain photo/video lights that eat up a lot of power will reinforce the need for studio to utilize a generator as part of your gear list. 

Q: Can I rent the space for an event? 

We love hosting events. Email Hype’s bookings department all the details and we can reply promptly with a special quote. Need:

Q: Do you accept long term bookings? 

We surely do! Send us a list of the dates you’re looking to rent and the type of event/shoot you are hosting and we’ll put together an estimate for a long term space rental. 

Q: Can I play music? 

Of course! We have a Sonos sound system in the studio connected to an iPad where you can play music from Spotify. If you will be playing loud music all day (like for a music video), please let us know ahead of time so we can give our onsite staff a courtesy reminder. 

Q: What’s included in the base space booking? 

Our main space includes the cyc, the lounge, the large conference table, kitchen, and glam/styling areas.

Q: Do you have a printer I can use? 

We surely do! Email the materials you need printed to print@hype-rentals.com and your site rep will print at the front desk for you! All prints will be billed together at the end of the booking. 

Q: Can we move furniture? Can we shoot with it? 

You are welcome to move furniture around/shoot with it as needed, please note that your crew is 100% responsible for moving furniture and resetting the studio to its original floor plan before they leave. Time to move/reset furniture should be factored into your arrival/departure time(s) so please adjust accordingly. If you need Hype’s staff to move furniture, we can do so for a $500 fee. We highly recommend scouting the space ahead of your shoot date so that you can plan accordingly.  

Q: Will you “hold” dates if I’m not ready to book yet? 

We are happy to place a hold on a date and if a second inquiry or booking request comes through for the day(s) requested, we will give you 24 hours refusal to confirm your time or reschedule as needed.

Q: Where/how can I ship something nearby? 

The studio can accept deliveries at 1759 Glendale Blvd, Suite A, Los Angeles, CA 90026. Regular booking team office hours are 9AM - 6PM. Please provide your delivery driver with the map from bookings department so they can find our space. Please note that for any large/heavy items being delivered or stored at the studio, your crew is responsible for scheduling PAs to oversee deliveries that require heavy lifting or any rearrangement of furniture. 

Q: Who do I contact/call if I have a last minute scheduling/booking change? 

Please call text or call us at 310.359.6763. We hope to be as accommodating as possible!

Q: My talent/celebrity is being dropped off, where do they go? 

Hype has had a number of celebrities at the studio! Our bookings department can provide directions via email! If they need any clarification, have them call 310.359.6763. We are happy to reserve a spot for drop offs.

Q: How tall is the loading dock? 

Approximately 4 feet tall. :)

Q: Do I pay a security deposit? 

Depending on shoot needs and supply of a certificate of insurance, Hype may request a security deposit to hold. We will return the remaining deposit after the booking (usually within 3 business days depending on return of equipment and such!) minus any overages.

Q: Is nudity allowed in the studio? 

We welcome creativity and respect your creative! While nudity is permitted inside the studio for still photography, we request a minimum of 24 hours advance notice so that we can make arrangements for limited staff to be onsite if needed. We do not allow adult films to be recorded in our space. 

Q: Do you have a private space guests can take a meeting in? 

Yes! Our VIP rooms are the perfect space for a breakout meeting or phone call. Please note this space is an add-on option depending on your teams’ usage needs.

Q: Can we take art off the walls? 

Sure! It just needs to be pre-approved in writing by our Studio Operations team! Please email bookings@hype-rentals.com with a list of what you will be moving temporarily. Your PAs are responsible for moving items with supervision from the studio’s site rep, please note that the renter is liable for any L&D of studio property moved/altered/damaged/lost during a booking. 

Happy to have your team scout prior to the project to assess what might need to be moved.

Q: How can I decorate the space for my party/event? 

Our studio is meant to be a flexible canvas. You are allowed to bring in outside decorations, equipment, or furniture if needed, and we have plenty of extra tables/chairs available to rent onsite. If you are bringing in outside equipment, please schedule a PA to oversee deliveries for any bulky/heavy items to avoid disrupting our onsite staff. We have some pics of previous parties/events we’ve hosted, we’re happy to send you some examples so you can see how the studio looks with different lighting/catering set ups!   

Q: Is there a fridge we may use? 

Of course! There’s a large fridge in the kitchen. My lunch is sometimes in there.

Q: Does the stove/oven work? Do you guys have extra plates/napkins/cutlery? 

They surely do! Our kitchen is fully operable with a working oven, stove, microwave, fridge, coffee machines, and assorted dish-ware/cutlery. Ask us about our kitchen & coffee bundles before your event!

Q: How many bathrooms do you have? 

We have 1 restroom and 1 shower/changing room included with the booking. There are additional restrooms available for larger crews, but need at least 24 business hour notice if you’ll be needing this.

Q: Was the cyc here before you guys moved in? 

Nope! We built the cyc our first week here, isn’t she beautiful? 

Q: Do I need to wear booties on the cyc? 

Not everyone does, and that’s so nice of you to ask! We provide booties for the cyc; please ask your site rep to put them out if you don’t see them when you arrive for your shoot.

Q: How do my guests/crew access the studio?

Our studio address is 1759 Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026. Please note there is no entry to our space from Glendale Blvd. You will access our parking lot and studio entrance from Aaron St, we are one driveway past Modo Yoga East LA. We have a super clear map that helps and will be emailed to you at booking time. If you need to reach us directly tomorrow to find the studio, please text or call 310-359-6763.

Q: What is your safety protocol?


We pride ourselves on creating a safe space for teams to work. The area is cleaned and sanitized before/during/after each booking. During Covid days, we’d supply plenty of masks and hand sanitizer as well as temperature checks. Now that they’ve lifted the city guidelines, we do not always have these displayed. Ask the site rep if you need anything and we’ll be happy to help as much as we can.

Q: Does my start time and end time include set-up and break down?


Correct! You will need to coordinate your set-up and break down within the time frame you booked. Should you need additional time please coordinate with Hype.


Q: What will I be charged if I go overtime?


OT will be assessed after 6:30PM and prior to 8:30AM, this will be based on the standard rates in the rate card. If your team works over 12 hours, the charge is double time.


Q: Can I bring in alcohol/food?


Alcohol must be pre-approved by Hype. Refundable Security Deposit: $500 to bring in alcohol, you are responsible for any damages incurred from your booking/guest(s).

Q: Does the studio have the ability to black out lighting?


Yes, Hype may have the skylights blacked out prior, please request at least 48 hours in advance.

Q: Can I store stuff overnight before/after a shoot? 

How many items will you be storing? What type of props do you need to store (furniture, clothes, props, etc.) - once we know how much you’ll be storing at the studio, we will provide an estimate if necessary for overnight storage. Please note that we require one of your team members or PAs to oversee delivery and pickup. We are happy to coordinate with you on logistics, but Hype staff is not responsible for any handling of props, furniture, and clothes.

Q: Can you guys pick up/return equipment for subrentals? 

Yes, for a fee (depends on rush order, team’s availability, etc.) some examples of how we’ve done this in the past. Email the operations team at bookings@hype-rentals.com with a list of gear you need and they will ensure your equipment is ready onsite for your shoot date(s). 

Q: How do clients pay for bookings/equipment? Is there a contract?

We accept cash, checks, or credit cards with a 5% processing fee. We can also share ACH details for a wire transfer if needed. Yes, we do require every booking sign a Hype Studios contract. Once all booking logistics have been confirmed, I’ll email this to you through Square.

Q: What’s the WiFi situation at the studio?

Hype Studios has Spectrum Business Internet Ultra service, which has speeds of apx 600Mbps download and 50 upload.
